Magic: The Gathering is putting the Avengers on cardboard. Marvel Super Heroes, the next Universes Beyond crossover, releases June 26, 2026, with prerelease weekend starting June 19. It is a full set with four Commander decks, it is legal in every format including Standard, and it follows last year’s Marvel’s Spider-Man as the second piece of a Marvel collaboration that, unusually for Universes Beyond, spans more than one release.

What Marvel Super Heroes is
Universes Beyond is the Magic line that brings outside worlds into the game, from Lord of the Rings to Final Fantasy. Marvel Super Heroes is the Avengers-era entry, and it is built like a full premier set rather than a one-off product drop. That means draft boosters, play boosters, collector boosters, and a set of Commander decks, with the deep card pool and chase rares that come with a main release.
The Marvel collaboration is bigger than most Universes Beyond tie-ins. Where a crossover usually gets a single set, Marvel is getting multiple. Spider-Man came first in September 2025. Marvel Super Heroes is the follow-up, and Wizards has signaled more Marvel to come. If you skipped Spider-Man, you are not behind. Each set stands on its own.
One expectation to set early: this is an Avengers, Fantastic Four, and street-level Marvel set. The roster pulls from the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Doctor Doom, and similar corners of the universe. If you were hoping for a deep X-Men set, this is not that one.
The four Commander decks
Commander is where most Marvel fans will start, because the preconstructed decks are ready to play out of the box and built around recognizable teams. Four ship with the set.

Formats and legality
Marvel Super Heroes is legal in all formats, Standard included. That matters more than it sounds. For most of its history, Universes Beyond sat outside Standard, so crossover cards lived mainly in Commander and eternal formats. Recent sets, including Spider-Man and now Marvel Super Heroes, are Standard legal, which means these cards can show up at Friday Night Magic and in competitive Standard, not just at the Commander table.

For collectors
Crossover sets bring in players who do not normally buy Magic, and that shows up in what people chase. Expect the marquee characters, the big-name Avengers and villains, to be the most sought-after cards, along with the special-art and extended-art treatments that collector boosters target. Spider-Man saw exactly this pattern at launch: heavy demand on the headline characters and the premium art versions.
